Security threat escalates as five men are arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorism near a base used by the U.S. Air Force.
Police responded to reports of three suspicious vehicles heading towards the base, and the suspects are currently detained on charges of violating explosives-related laws. Additionally, 85 households in the vicinity were evacuated for safety reasons.
The United States previously used this base for attack operations against Iran, which sparked local protests against the British government's decision to provide the base. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps had warned that bases involved in U.S. military operations would be legitimate targets.
