This feature is available for both Shorts and long videos, and can be set up in YouTube Studio (YT Studio) by clicking the pencil icon after uploading a video.

Props such as microphones, lighting, or glasses shown in videos can now be linked using the Tag Product feature for monetization.

Viewers can click the 'View Products' button that appears at the bottom of the video to go to the linked shopping mall (e.g., Flipkart).

If a viewer purchases a product from that shopping mall, the channel operator receives a certain percentage of commission. Commission rates vary by product type, such as 12% for lighting and 14% for glasses.

According to an example provided by Active Rahul, if a light costs 1,263 rupees and the commission is 12%, approximately 152 rupees are earned for each product sold.

If 1,000 of these lights are sold, the channel operator could earn about 151,000 rupees.

It is explained that commissions can also be generated if viewers purchase other products after navigating to a tagged product page, and this method allows for monetization without the 4,000-hour watch time requirement.

Select the desired product from the search results, verify the price and estimated commission information, then complete the tagging and click 'Done' and 'Save' to register the product information in the video.

Through product tagging on a YouTube channel, approximately 27,000-28,000 won (about $20-$21 USD) in commission can be expected for each product sold.

Any product appearing in a video, such as saris, lipsticks, toys, or water bottles, can be tagged. Viewers can click on in-video tags or links in the description to go to shopping malls like Flipkart and make purchases.

For example, if a microphone product priced at 2,463 won is sold, a 10% commission of 246 won is generated.

If 100 people buy this product this way, the channel operator earns 24,000 won, making it an effective method to earn money even without channel monetization.

This means monetization is possible without meeting the previous 4,000-hour watch time requirement, and product tagging acts as the first step towards automatic monetization.

YouTube channel operators can access YT Studio, click on their profile picture, and navigate to the settings menu.

Within the settings, find the 'Product tag automatically' option and enable it if it's off. Turning this setting on will automatically display product tagging options in videos.
