Pakistan Military Warns Long March

A statement addressing major political and military issues was distributed while negotiations took place between the Number Two government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

With growing public anger over election rigging allegations and the arrest of the former prime minister, it is analyzed that any message from the military will struggle to gain legitimacy.

The need to sever ties between criminal elements and terrorists in border regions, as well as the issue of drug cultivation in military and Frontier Corps (FC) controlled areas, were also highlighted.

Despite an increase in police budget, allegations of intelligence agency involvement in investigations have been raised, increasing concerns about security instability.

Drone footage confirmed armed individuals, presumed to be Taliban, occupying and controlling roads.

A contradictory situation occurred where military vehicles passed without any hindrance, even though civilian armed groups controlled roads that should be managed by security authorities.

Suspicions of collusion between the military and armed groups are being raised, as civilians feel threatened with being killed.

This statement is interpreted as a political message de facto targeting PTI's Long March, sparking controversy over military political intervention, contradicting the DG ISPR's claim of non-interference in politics.

While no soldiers died at the time, there are claims that many civilians were killed by firing from state agencies, and calls for accountability for the casualties are growing.

Voices are raised criticizing that the arrests of many politicians, including Murad Raas and Asad Umar, are linked to their party affiliation.

Allegations have been raised that the May 9th incident is being used to dismantle political parties, and claims have been made that the May 9th events are being utilized as a political weapon.

Through this, the possibility of negotiations between the government and opposition will be explored for about a week, and the final decision rests on Asim Munir's approval.

The current government cannot resolve the national crisis without Imran Khan, and there is a dominant perception that only he can save Pakistan from its current predicament.
