Prime Minister Abiy Likens Ethiopia to a Huge 'Ship'
Dismantling Ethiopia into small rafts undermines the nation's foundation, leads to stagnation, and ultimately prevents it from crossing distant seas. In a speech on November 21, 2018, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed emphasized this by likening it to a large ship navigating a vast ocean.
He pointed out that a large ship can cross distant seas, but small rafts (ጀልባ) made by dismantling it cannot, stressing that if the national foundation is undermined and divided into smaller units, it will ultimately fail to advance and stagnate.
