Analyzing Bitcoin ETF Outflows and Market Mechanics
Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recently experienced a significant single-day outflow of $485 million, effectively reversing gains made in October.
These outflows were observed across all issuers, including $207.7 million from BlackRock's IBIT, $105 million from Fidelity, and $101 million from ARK, suggesting the mechanical closing of 'cash and carry' trades rather than straightforward selling pressure.
Ethereum ETFs also recorded $160.9 million in outflows, contributing to a combined total of $645.8 million, which a host noted is an expected correction when Bitcoin's price adjusts from $88,000 to the low $80,000s.
