Drift Log: From Despair to Hope

However, immediately after starting the game, they faced a crisis, losing a life to a shark attack.

The player, who approached the survival game with the pride of being a WoW hardcore generation, was quite perplexed by the unexpectedly high difficulty.

Learning from the mistake of being bogged down by non-essential items like bed crafting in previous attempts, they completely readjusted resource management priorities this time.

They secured necessary food and resources from resource boxes found on the island.

An unreasonable route for food acquisition is delaying the overall schedule. Optimal path selection considering travel direction and farming efficiency is required.

Securing resources for bed crafting was urgent, but hunger made it difficult to collect enough resources.

They prioritized securing immediate food items like watermelons and pineapples, postponing attempts to craft a bed.

The paddles' durability quickly depleted, highlighting the need for an anchor to fix the raft and a sail to increase travel speed.

Players attempted a strategy of creating a current observer to check wind direction and use tailwinds to increase travel efficiency.

They deployed various survival tactics, such as looking for ways to secure scarce resources by fishing in areas where no trash appeared.

Resource acquisition became difficult as long stretches without trash appeared.

They realized that going against the wind reduced trash spawns and were confused about whether to follow the tailwind or stay near the island.

With no trash appearing for over 5 minutes, fishing became crucial for securing resources.

Sailing against the wind resulted in no trash collection and slower boat movement, severely hindering survival.

Consequently, the cast agreed to always use downwind or crosswind for sailing and to avoid sailing upwind.

They discovered that metallic materials or barnacles on the seafloor near islands could be harvested with a hook, exploring new resource acquisition methods.

News of a new member, Paka, joining during gameplay was relayed, and the cast welcomed Paka's arrival.

However, the cast expressed concern about resource depletion with an extra mouth to feed, stating it hadn't been long since they started the game on hardcore difficulty.

It was mentioned that in a situation where resource acquisition is difficult, an increase in personnel could indeed heighten the survival difficulty.

Server disconnections and headwinds made raft movement and resource acquisition difficult, disrupting game progress.

Opinions were divided on whether to restart the server, but some advised against it, unwilling to give up their unprecedented start.

The depletion of 'planks,' consumed in all essential in-game activities like repairs, cooking, and tool crafting, intensified resource scarcity.

The plank shortage created a bottleneck in game progression, also hindering strategies for island travel.

Ralo likened planks to 'memory' to describe the severe current resource depletion, highlighting it as a critical difficulty in gameplay.

One player possessed 18 planks but couldn't utilize them, unsure where or how to use them.

During careful deliberation on whether to deploy the anchor to avoid wasting it, the opinion arose that a strategy was needed to protect the boat from shark attacks while securing resources.

Ralo began preparing for local procurement, such as wood gathering, ahead of the island exploration.

The idea of widening the boat's area to increase collection efficiency was suggested. Ralo judged that enlarging the platform would facilitate resource acquisition.

A 'trick' was also discussed: extending planks next to the bed to moor without an anchor, aiming to boost efficiency.

Ralo pointed out that grilling potatoes was the main cause of wood resource depletion.

Excessive wood was being consumed in the process of cooking potatoes. He suggested changing their diet to eating raw potatoes instead.

Team members shared information that the obtained flower items were merely cosmetic and useless. Ralo stated, "You can just throw away all the flowers. They're just for decoration, they say. Useless."

The possibility of selling items like compasses and trash cubes was raised, exploring new ways to acquire resources.

They expressed anticipation for settlement possibilities upon discovering a mango tree during their exploration.

After crafting a glass cup, they confirmed its only use was for drinking juice. Ralo remarked, "What's good about a glass cup? It's good for drinking juice. Oh, so that's its purpose," questioning its practicality.

Consequently, the urgent need for crafting an advanced water purifier that requires no fuel was strongly raised, and they began to reflect on existing plank usage and research order.

Until then, they had indiscriminately collected various materials like scrap and copper, realizing the importance of using the research table to understand what items could be crafted.

The team expanded their understanding of resource utilization by confirming a new method of obtaining glass by smelting sand. Ralo said, "Ah, smelting sand turns it into glass."

They also carried out the process of drying wet bricks in the sun to make dry bricks, recognizing this as an essential step for crafting a smelter.

The team keenly felt the need to build an automated system and proposed a 'plus-shaped' expansion, extending the sides of the raft. The goal was to increase trash collection efficiency.

However, they acknowledged the risk of facility destruction during shark attacks, leading to careful discussion on the expansion strategy.

Manual resource collection methods clearly have limitations. An automated system is urgently needed.

They understood this feature was introduced because it's difficult to recover bodies when lost in the middle of the ocean.

They also learned the lesson that for optimized hardcore play, the raft must be expanded quickly.

Ralo shared the desperate situation where all drinking water and food for four people had run out.

They recognized the need to craft a water purifier and cooking tools for survival and discussed ways to procure water and food using resources.

Some team members worried that precious resources like planks were consumed during the revival process.

The team members, experiencing resource shortages relative to their large numbers, emphasized the need for task division.

They understood the system of unlocking a tech tree by placing materials in a research lab and proceeded with research to craft necessary items.

This demonstrates that the boat can be stopped using a sailing technique, in addition to the traditional anchor method.

This attack can only be perfectly dodged by lateral movement.

They shared that the boar's attack pattern can occasionally change, requiring caution.

Ralo requested expediting the crafting of a smelter. A smelter is an facility used to melt various materials like metal to produce new items.

Team members decided to install multiple smelters to proceed with production.

The cast confirmed that the surface poses risks from dangers like boars and eagles, requiring caution.

Underground areas were mentioned as a 'bonanza' advantageous for resource acquisition.

They adopted a method of building a second floor using pillars, but criticism arose that the pillars were installed too closely on the first floor, making the space narrow.

The construction of the second floor serves to confirm the direction of advancement towards a target located 1500m ahead.

There were differing perceptions among the cast regarding their experience with the game's normal and hard servers.

Despite claims of having played the game before, mentions of it being their first time on a hard server led to disagreement.

They discovered what appeared to be a person on the upper levels of the radio tower, and Ralo signaled not to shoot.

Afterward, a teammate joined them.

Tension mounted among team members as theories about an internal monster were discussed.

Team members thoroughly searched the surrounding environment, focusing on the stalls, to secure an entry path.

Ralo determined that wires, gas tanks, lighters, and bullets were needed as materials for crafting a bomb.

To acquire the necessary supplies, team members scattered across different sections to continue farming.

The opinion emerged, "This seems correct, so let's check, and if there are unopened places, let's reconfirm." They continued their re-search, focusing on unopened areas.

Thorough re-searching is necessary as exploration omissions might have occurred even in previously visited locations.

Team members are discussing ways to build stairs to enter its interior. Participants are looking for ways to build stairs to enter the interior.

Astonished by the overwhelming size of this structure, the cast expressed dismay, saying, "Is this unprecedented? How do we climb it?"

One participant reiterated the idea of "building stairs to the sky" that had been proposed in the past, discussing the possibility of constructing stairs to access the upper part of the structure.

During this process, they found a sign that read 'Ranger Station 2 4 6,' and the team members set their exploration direction, saying, 'Let's start from 2.'

Eventually, at the source of the sound, they found phrases like 'How does a bear ride a bicycle?' and 'Sorry for taking the chain.'

The expedition team confirmed that the content about bears riding bicycles was a clue related to bears.

With a new strategy, they realized that to return to the boat, it must be kept far from the island: "Anyway, since we all go to that same place, Dopa, Miyana, drive to the opposite side. Come to the opposite side by driving."

They also recognized the importance of resource management, needing to carry two bows, two bottles of water, and a watermelon, and said, "You must go down to red and eat or drink when starving" to increase item usage efficiency.

All three were annihilated, and they realized the overwhelming attack power of the bear, stating, "I was at full health, but one hit left me with 15% HP."

They were horrified by the bear's vastly different health, exclaiming, "We shot 60 arrows, and it's not dead?" and determined it was a monster that couldn't be dodged with normal movements, beginning to search for a new攻略법.
