US District Court Ruling Limits Immigration Enforcement in California
U.S. District Judge Mywusi Mensah-Fong ordered that immigration enforcement agents must now document specific facts indicating a target is likely to escape before making civil immigration arrests without a warrant across the Central District of California.
This ruling impacts significant areas including Los Angeles, Orange County, and Riverside, by stating that an individual's illegal presence alone does not automatically constitute a flight risk.
Wayne Allyn Root criticized the judicial decision, framing it as an example of anti-American bias within the legal system, which he believes hinders effective immigration control.
He particularly highlighted that the order specifically blocks ICE and Border Patrol from making civil immigration arrests without a warrant across the Central District of California unless agents first decide and then write down specific facts that the target is likely to escape before a warrant can be obtained.
