DOJ Establishes New Office to Combat Fraud, Led by Colin McDonald
The Department of Justice has inaugurated a new office, headed by Assistant Attorney General Colin McDonald, specifically tasked with combating fraud. This initiative represents a significant governmental effort to enhance accountability and financial recovery from fraudulent activities.
The new task force is designed to operate collaboratively, integrating the efforts of the FBI, the Small Business Administration (SBA), and the broader Department of Justice. Its strategy includes employing 'demand letters' to encourage early cooperation from individuals and entities suspected of fraud, aiming to expedite the recovery process before formal indictments are pursued.
