YouTube channel Jindol released a special interview where he achieved his dream of working with IU, a long-time fan.
He recalled that after his last leave, his squadmates watching the 'Good Day' music video acknowledged that "Sergeant Jindol was right," affirming his prediction, and he was proud to be discharged.
After receiving the request from IU's side, Jindol and Heedee went through several internal votes, despite being satisfied with the results, out of concern that IU might not like it.
They were surprised by IU's positive reaction after delivering the initial design draft, and proceeded cautiously with the work, even conducting several internal votes.
IU responded by saying that watching their production video made her feel that they enjoyed the work to the point of pain and put deep affection into it.
Jindol, who has a habit of recording annual goals every January 1st, had 'Meet IU' on his list this year.
At the time, he never thought this goal would actually come true, but with this special talk becoming a reality, both he and IU couldn't hide their amazement.
The desire to entrust Jindol and Heedee with the character work became a reality, as if by fate.
Jindol also tries to unleash his creativity through everyday actions like washing dishes or shampooing, sharing experiences where good ideas suddenly come to him in unexpected moments.
IU was intuitively drawn to 'Kkumu's' eyes, which contrasted beautifully with the sky blue, leading her to the final choice.
She deliberated between Heedee's top pick, a human-shaped character, and Kkumu, but was ultimately swayed by Kkumu's charm.
During the design phase, the team actively incorporated the demand that fans would want to freely decorate and modify the character.
When Jindol raised the possibility of discontinuing season's greetings, IU criticized it as being no different from taking away a pillar of support from fans' daily lives.
She emphasized that providing a sanctuary where fans, tired from their social lives, can always return is paramount.
IU, who understood the fans' sentiment of carrying photo cards in their wallets like amulets, also learned that while she prefers to upload well-taken photos on social media, fans prefer natural, blurry photos.
While understanding fans' tendency to treat her photos as amulets, she also expressed her personal preference for sharing well-taken photos with the public. On the other hand, she mentioned that fans tend to prefer natural, shaky, or error-filled moments during shoots.
IU, who appeared as a guest with a new bob haircut, openly shared her preferences regarding her hairstyle change.
Jindol turned away from preferring long hair after seeing IU's bob during her 'Leon' era, and IU herself likes the bob that fans call 'Heedee-cut'.
IU confessed that while she doesn't subscribe to many channels, she consistently subscribes to Jindol's channel and watches videos frequently whenever they are uploaded.
This fact provided great comfort and new motivation to Jindol, who had been feeling stagnant.
She, who believes she has low public recognition, is usually quite shy.
This appearance will remain a narrative of successful fandom for both Jindol and IU.
She unconsciously uses informal language, showing friendliness, when fans approach her in daily life showing merchandise or cards. Conversely, when encountering older fans, she shows respect and communicates with a bright demeanor.
She feels a greater sense of welcome when fans show consideration first. IU demonstrates a flexible approach to interacting with fans depending on the situation.
If Uaenas show me cards or merchandise like this while I'm doing everyday things, I sometimes unconsciously speak informally, even though I probably shouldn't. I tend to do that.
She waits for the fan to request a photo first.
Amidst the awkwardness of gauging each other's intentions, she prefers to respond when a request is made.
This interaction shows IU's attitude of valuing natural communication with fans.
She worked part-time at a pizza place for two years, learning the entire process from making the dough to adding toppings.
Her personal preference for pizza led to her work experience.
She has a dream of inviting subscribers and serving them pizza she made herself.
Her future outlook is to build each day with the mindset of working harder than yesterday.
She honestly admitted that she sometimes feels envious of people who live by plans.
Jindol introduced an unconventional format by entrusting the entire broadcast to his guest, IU.
IU seized this opportunity to turn the tables and ask Jindol questions, leading the discussion.
By switching roles, they entered a new phase of conversation, creating an interesting flow.
She hesitates to reveal herself as a fan because she fears her affection might seem small compared to other passionate fans.
She feels a psychological barrier to saying she's a fan, worried that her devotion might appear light.
IU suggested her participation in Jindol's channel's signature content, 'Spin Anything'.
She expressed active interest by mentioning a live challenge themed 'How far can it spin?'.
She also extended an invitation for Jindol to return as a co-MC, raising expectations for their next meeting.
