Professor Jiang Warns of Escalating Global Conflicts

Groups such as the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Iraqi Shia militias are now actively engaged in various theaters. These decentralized groups receive coordination from Iran and share a similar religious framework and eschatology, enabling a unified, yet distributed, approach to conflict.

Today's conflicts differ significantly from the 2003 Iraq War, which involved a direct confrontation with a state actor like Saddam Hussein. The current landscape is characterized by decentralized, fanatical groups that pose a unique challenge to conventional military forces. The United States military struggles against these guerrilla tactics, as the coordination among these groups presents a key differentiator from past conflicts.

It is highly probable that Saudi Arabia will invoke this pact against the Houthis, who pose a direct threat to the kingdom's energy infrastructure. This development raises the risk of further escalation in the Middle East, potentially drawing in other regional powers.

The global economic system relies heavily on the free flow of oil, underpinned by the petrodollar. Any disruption to oil transport would severely impact manufacturing in countries like China and Japan, which depend on these imports. Consequently, the demand for US Treasury bonds would drop as the recycling of petrodollars ceases, threatening the stability of the entire system. This dependency makes the global economy highly susceptible to geopolitical tensions that affect trade routes.

Professor Jiang's pessimistic geopolitical outlook stems from significant events like Brexit and the 2016 US election. As an immigrant who grew up in a low-income family, these political shifts served as catalysts, deeply influencing his understanding of global stability and social structures.

Iran's potential strategy involves disrupting global trade to challenge the US petrodollar system, which forms the bedrock of the American empire. Such a disruption would create widespread uncertainty, making it impossible for insurers to cover global shipping. The US military lacks the capacity to effectively respond to simultaneous and random strikes across the Middle East, leaving it vulnerable to such an economic challenge.

Destroying power plants could lead to catastrophic consequences, risking starvation for millions in cities like Tehran. Professor Jiang argues that US leadership, driven by hubris, might view such actions as necessary to maintain its global empire, regardless of the humanitarian cost.

South Korea, for instance, has authorized a naval contingent to secure the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting the international impact of regional instability.

He suggests that if Trump were to secure another term, possibly through a national emergency or by running as Vice President with his son, it would spark widespread revolt in Democratic cities. This unrest, he claims, would culminate in a federal-led siege of New York City. He is so confident in Trump remaining in the White House beyond January 21, 2029, that he has made a $100 bet.

Professor Jiang suggests that if federal authority is challenged by a city or local state authority, the president would respond by sending in forces to quash such insurrections. He identifies New York City Mayor Zohan Madani as a potential key figure in such a scenario.

These claims include taking over Canada, Greenland, and Cuba. Such statements fuel speculation about potential shifts in US foreign policy under a future Trump administration.

He recounted being interrogated about his son's travel documents, attributing this scrutiny to his controversial political commentary. He believes his polarizing views have made him a target for increased border scrutiny.

This connection highlights the controversial nature of his analysis and its potential impact on established political narratives.

He contrasts China as a self-sufficient land power with Japan as a resource-dependent sea power, asserting Japan's existential need for Southeast Asian resource colonies. Jiang claims that Taiwan's reunification with China would grant Beijing the power to impose a blockade on Japan, exacerbating existing tensions and making conflict unavoidable due to resource constraints.

Professor Jiang identifies North Korea as China's primary proxy for exerting leverage against Japan and South Korea. He explains that North Korean missile threats are a strategic tool used by China to counter Japanese naval expansion and gain negotiating power. He also posits that the US has a vested interest in fueling tensions between China and Japan, and argues that the US disregards Taiwan's security in favor of relocating chip manufacturing facilities.

This approach aims to inflict economic pain on the Russian populace, which, in turn, is making Vladimir Putin increasingly unpopular. The strategy intends to shift public perception of the war within Russia by targeting economic vulnerabilities rather than solely military assets.

In 1995, the world operated under the principles of neoliberalism and the Washington Consensus, which promoted peace through global trade and consumerism. However, this era was challenged by the "Clean Break" theory, commissioned by Benjamin Netanyahu in 1996. This policy document, in contrast to the Oslo peace process, advocated for a more assertive and interventionist foreign policy, marking a significant ideological shift away from the neoliberal ideal of perpetual peace through trade.

Professor Jiang emphasizes that the United States could have prevented escalating global conflicts by pressuring Israel to seek peace with Arab nations. He highlights the importance of forcing regional reconciliation, noting Israel's dependency on American aid and technology. This dependency provides the US with significant leverage to influence peace processes, but this leverage has not always been fully utilized.

He rejects the notion that belief in God leads to passivity, arguing instead that faith demands active participation in society. He emphasizes that if one knows what is going to happen, they have a moral obligation to share that knowledge, underscoring his commitment to informing the public.

He argues that an excessive focus on AI distracts humanity from its true mission of spiritual growth. Jiang asserts that the essence of human experience is defined by love, empathy, and imagination, qualities he fears AI could diminish.
