Venezuela Faces Record Electricity Demand and Widespread Outages
Venezuela is currently grappling with severe power fluctuations and interruptions, impacting not only Caracas but also numerous interior states, as reported by local news outlets.
The national electricity demand has soared to over 16,400 MW, marking the highest figure recorded in more than a decade, with some families experiencing continuous power rationing for up to 16 hours. The government cites record demand, the El Niño phenomenon, and existing structural deficiencies within the electrical system as the primary causes of these widespread outages.
