Alberta Warns Trudeau: Tariffs Risk Economic Collapse

would swiftly retaliate with a 50% to 100% export tariff on oil and natural gas directed to Ontario, along with millions of barrels of diesel fuel.

The Alberta Premier highlighted this potential scenario as a direct and immediate consequence of Canadian tariffs.

Simultaneously, U.S. refineries that rely on Alberta's heavy oil would seek new suppliers, potentially turning to Venezuela, and reverse existing pipelines to access alternative sources.

This shift would jeopardize Canada's position as a primary oil supplier.

If Canada were to cut off oil exports entirely, the outcomes would be even more severe.

The U.S. would retaliate by cutting off all gasoline and diesel supplies to Ontario and Quebec, particularly problematic as Canada approaches fall and winter.

The United States possesses strategic oil reserves, unlike Canada, allowing it to manage gasoline prices even during crises.

While U.S. gasoline prices might increase, they would remain relatively manageable, as demonstrated during the Iran war.

Without its own strategic reserves, Canada would struggle significantly to supply Ontario and Quebec with essential oil, natural gas, and other fuels.

Canada's inability to supply its own provinces with necessary fuels would lead to a nose-dive in the Toronto Stock Exchange, impacting millions of Canadian investments, especially those of seniors.

Energy companies across Canada, regardless of size, would face closure and layoffs due to the inability to find markets for their products, further exacerbating the economic crisis.
