Assemblyman Joo Jin-woo Raises Allegations Against Yong Hye-in and Kim Seung-won

Assemblyman Joo Jin-woo alleged that the Basic Income Party virtually failed to meet the requirements for a political party and was falsely registered. He pointed out the reality that the Basic Income Party uses farm sheds as party offices, claiming that national taxes are being wasted as a result. A police report and an investigation request to the National Election Commission are currently underway.

If these allegations are proven true, the Basic Income Party's registration could be revoked, and the possibility of its affiliated assembly members losing their seats was also suggested.

Assemblyman Joo Jin-woo strongly criticized former Assemblywoman Yong Hye-in for advocating for the allowance of concurrent ministerial positions when it was possible for her, only to propose a bill prohibiting concurrent positions immediately after she was dropped from consideration.

The candidate's side explained this as being for public interest, but Assemblyman Joo Jin-woo strongly refuted these claims. He believes that this incident could also be linked to stock manipulation allegations involving brokers.

Considering the seriousness of the allegations, he emphasized the necessity of a special prosecutor's investigation.

He criticized that since the Minister of Justice is responsible for overseeing the legal system, it would be difficult to uphold the authority of the law if a person with a history of drunk driving holds this position.

He expressed concerns that a moral disqualification of a Minister of Justice, who should uphold the law, could damage public trust in the judicial system.

He evaluated this as highly inappropriate, as it appears to be a means to dismiss Lee Jae-myung's own trial, rather than for a public purpose.

It was also pointed out that the salaries of his son and daughter increased by 30% annually, and there were issues with his son's work ethic and inability to prove attendance.

He expressed regret that if these funds had been properly delivered to people with disabilities, much better education and services could have been provided.

Evidence of favoritism solicitation was secured through the disclosure of a voice recording of the spouse.

He stated that despite failing to meet fire safety standards, Suwon City allegedly provided preferential treatment by extending the registration period.

Assemblyman Joo Jin-woo strongly criticized the fact that not a single witness or reference was selected for the confirmation hearing. He believes that the refusal to select witnesses proves the candidate's unwillingness to clarify the suspicions. He claimed that this is tantamount to confessing to a crime.

He emphasized that an upright candidate should rather call many witnesses to transparently clarify the suspicions, and it is difficult to understand why witnesses are being hidden away.

He criticized that this method of hearing deepens public distrust and obstructs proper verification procedures.
