China Renews Demand for BRP Sierra Madre Removal

The latest confrontation arose after the Chinese embassy in Manila repeated Beijing's assertion that the Philippines had previously promised to tow the vessel away. The embassy's statement also challenged Philippine activities in other parts of the West Philippine Sea, including Pag-asa Island, where it called for the withdrawal of Philippine personnel and facilities.
